Analog Devices ADuM1201 Dual-Channel Digital Isolators provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to optocouplers. These devices are based on proprietary iCoupler® technology that combines high-speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technologies. The iCoupler devices consume one-tenth to one-sixth the power requirement of optocouplers and eliminate the requirement LEDs, photodiodes, external drivers, and other discrete components. The ADuM1201 Digital Isolators offer 3V/5V level translation, low power operation, bidirectional communication, 3ns precise-timing characteristics, and high-temperature operation at 125°C.

The ADuM1201 isolators provide two independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates. The automotive grade versions that are qualified for 125°C operation per AEC-Q100 of ADuM1201 Series are also available. Typical applications include RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 transceiver isolation, size-critical multichannel isolation, SPI interface/data converter isolation, hybrid electric vehicles, battery monitor, and motor drives.
